Pomimo dziesi\u0119cioleci bada\u0144, mechanizmy rozpocz\u0119cia i post\u0119pu choroby s\u0105 nadal niejasne, co utrudnia wczesn\u0105 diagnoz\u0119 i leczenie. Ostatnie post\u0119py w zrozumieniu patofizjologii PD sugeruj\u0105 obiecuj\u0105ce terapie mog\u0105ce spowolni\u0107 rozw\u00f3j choroby, jednak odwr\u00f3cenie degeneracji kom\u00f3rkowej pozostaje nieosi\u0105galne. Wraz z pojawieniem si\u0119 nowych terapii, potrzeba narz\u0119dzi do wczesnego wykrywania staje si\u0119 pilna. Brakuje jednak zweryfikowanych biomarker\u00f3w diagnostycznych PD, a obecna diagnostyka opiera si\u0119 na subiektywnych skalach, takich jak Hoehn i Yahr, lub kosztownych technikach obrazowania medycznego. Nagromadzenie \u017ale sfa\u0142dowanych bia\u0142ek \u03b1-synukleiny (\u03b1-Syn) w patogenezie PD wzbudzi\u0142o zainteresowanie, ale ich rola diagnostyczna wymaga dalszych bada\u0144. Najnowsze odkrycia obecno\u015bci \u03b1-Syn w neuronowo pochodnych p\u0119cherzykach zewn\u0105trzkom\u00f3rkowych (NDEV) u pacjent\u00f3w z PD sugeruj\u0105 potencja\u0142 nowych metod diagnostycznych.
