Clinical Recruitment for VαMPiRE Project Now Underway

We’re excited to share a major step forward in the VαMPiRE project: our clinical partners—Casa di Cura IGEA (IGEA), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology (IPIN), and Asociación Parkinson Madrid (APM)—have officially started recruiting participants for the clinical study.

In this first phase, the focus is on gathering blood samples and clinical data from volunteers. This information will form the foundation for the next stages of the project, where we’ll be developing and testing our In-Vitro Diagnostic Device and the AI-based tools designed to support early screening for Parkinson’s disease. So far, 80 participants have already joined the study across our clinical sites—an encouraging start toward our target of enrolling a total of 1,200 participants (600 PD and 600 non-PD). Their involvement, along with the dedication of our partner institutions, is key to building a high-quality, diverse dataset that will help us move research and innovation forward.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone contributing to this effort—from the researchers and clinicians to the individuals who have volunteered to be part of something bigger. We look forward to sharing more updates as the study progresses and the VαMPiRE project continues to evolve.
